The DX has 4 GB of storage space allowing it to hold approximately 3500 titles at any given time. The Kindle 2 is only capable of holding 1500 books. If you want a more complete library saved to your Kindle then the DX would undoubtedly be a better option. This being said, it is unlikely that most Kindle owners will ever be able to read 1500 books so it shouldn’t make too much of a difference.

The Kindle DX has an improved web browser which is more compatible with most websites. The browser on the Kindle 2 caused many websites to glitch and resulted in a very unpleasant internet experience. The new browser has fixed these problems to some degree but they still persist with regard to some sites. The inability to play videos coupled to a black and white screen results in very average internet viewing. It must be remembered that the Kindle has been developed as an Ebook reader rather than a gimmicky gadget and internet viewing is simply a subsidiary benefit included with a fantastic product.

Price

In the Kindle DX VS Kindle 2 faceoff the final round must be attributed to the pricing of the two products. The Kindle DX sells at 9 while the older version goes for 9. For those with a lower budget the Kindle 2 would be the obvious choice, but it must be remembered that the DX has been improved in almost every department and this alone is a justification for the higher price.

It is difficult to judge a result in the Kindle DX VS Kindle 2 battle, because the differences between the products are so marked. The DX is obviously an improved product but the high price could easily deter some buyers.
