It works on the principle that organized information is easier to learn and understand than a shattered one. Another speed reading technique is skimming which is used to quickly identify the main ideas of a text just like scanning. It consist speed that is three to four times faster than normal reading facilitated by moving the eyes down the page seeking only specific words and phrases. Knowing how to speed read can really help you in completing your syllabus on time along with cutting down the burden. You can also try sub-vocalizing which is a method of silently pronouncing the word while reading thus allowing the reader to imagine the sound of the word as it is read. It helps the mind to access meanings to enable it to comprehend and remember what is read. Most of the speed readers use a variety of methods to increase their speed and comprehension level as it is hard to read every word present on the page. Reading any text works half way through learning it as our minds can easily translate and mold words as per its convenience. This helps in time management for studies in our busy schedules and limited time period before exams.
